Some of the fondest memories backpacking through Southeast Asia is the children I encountered along the way. I really did not expect these children to seem so happy and content in the face of poverty and the struggle to survive. However a trip to Southeast Asia would not be complete without the kids in Siem Reap and surrounding villages selling books, fridge magnets, bracelets, postcards and other types of gifts to the tourists. These young boys followed me to the top level of the Bakong Temple, trying to sell bananas for a dollar. I didn’t end up buying any bananas but they were amazed by my camera so I took the opportunity to take a few photos.
