Victory Gate into the ancient capital city of Angkor Thom, Kingdom of Cambodia. Located on the eastern wall of Angkor, it is one of five identical gates and second most used entrance. It was definitely the most the interesting of them all. It was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. Established in the late twelfth century by King Jayavarman VII. It covers an area of 9 km², within which are located several monuments from earlier eras as well as those established by Jayavarman and his successors. Quite incredible architecture for it’s time.
